Overreacting 101

To take a look at some of the Seahawks message boards and chat rooms and such, you’d think the end of the world is nigh.

Hasselbeck should be benched. Hasselbeck shouldn’t be re-signed.

They should let Alexander go.

They should let K-Rob go. (Or K-Drop as he’s humorously being called….)

They should can Holmgren.

Blah-blah-blah….

Note: Today is October 27th. The Seahawks have played 6 games. There are more than 2 months to go in the season. The team is better than they showed at Arizona. It’s a long season. Five of their last seven games are at home. Save your gasket-blowing until January, would ya?

Well the only thing I can say is that they should bench Hasselsack. He really can’t win the big game and until they get a QB that can they will always come in last.

Last December 14, the Hawks lost at St. Louis 27-22 in a hell of a football game. That left them with two games to go in the season, and they had to win them both to make the playoffs.

The next week they beat the Cardinals at home. Hasselbeck was 17-24 for 179 yards with 1 TD and 1 INT.

The last week of the season the Hawks beat the 49ers on the road 24-17, with Hasselbeck going 24-37, 315, 2 and 2.

They had to win their last two games, and the QB didn’t let them down. He also had a helluva game in the playoffs against the Packers, but we all know how that ended. And remember — it was Alex Bannister who admitted to not running the correct route on that INT.

So, I’m disagreeing with you about him never winning big games. He did it last year, in what were the first big games of his career.

Great QBs aren’t made overnight. Brett Favre didn’t become a superstar the first day he made the starting lineup. Most guys need to take some bumps and bruises along the way. Hasselbeck is getting his, and he’ll be fine.

sorry fellow hawk fans but the writing is on the wall. this team will do nothing but finish out the year. 4 wins over mediocre teams and a loss to arizona who got waxed by the lowly buffalo bills means this team is giving us a NORMAL HAWK SEASON! undisciplined recievers, defensive lineman who get hurt by TRIPPING opposing players combined with the curse of the LARGENT for signing a washed up, selfish, brittle disrespectfull jerry rice brings the karma front and center. my man drew bledsoe will produce a win without even passing for a 100 yards over these pretenders. reality sucks but i will raise my hopes only to have them squashed. at least philly fans get to win some big games before having their hearts torn out. mariners, sonics, seahawks…..this will be a year to forget.
